Post 142 Celebrates July 4TH

With the majority of command officers and senior elected officers away at the American Legion Florida Department Convention in Orlando, a Stars & Stripes core group of Family Unit volunteers led the implementation of this year's celebration of the 245th Birthday of the greatest nation on earth, the United States of America!  DeDe and Chuck from the Legion and Monica and Beth from the Auxiliary executed the planning, financing, and implementation of this party. They were assisted by additional volunteers at the party: Mary S., Amy, Dan, Nina, Suzie, and others.  Members across all of the Family Units contributed a marvelous array of side dishes--a heartfelt thanks from our "tummies" to all of them, as well!

Patriotic and dance music was ably provided by D.J., Eugene.  The afternoon fun was further stimulated by a successful 50/50 raffle by Beth and tasty Jello Shots whose sales were further invigorated by a "car-style USA Flag" bonus with every shot "bought and drunk" was financed by Spankie and Donna from the Spank the Hog Restaurant!

Post Historian Tommy Thomas was present with his camera to record the event in the pictures below:

Happy Birthday America!
